Ignorance Makes Us Sick
It's been a while, but I'm back with a vengence!Las Vegas sun and it talked about how all these people said that Reid's out of line for saying this. Are you serious!?! How can these people possibly argue against what he's saying. Like coal and oil are bad for us an our environment is some shocking truth (inconvenient as the truth is). We've known this for years, but certain conservatives are arguing against this. We do need to reduce coal and oil power. It's certainly not helping us. Yes, coal keep things cheaper monetarily, but there's the opportunity cost. What about wen you adjust the price of fuel with the external social cost. When you consider the money it takes to clean up the atmosphere and the increased costs of health care as a result of it, it may not be as cheap as we may think. Ignorance. One of them said "fuel and coal built this country and made our fortune." What kind of reasoning is that? This guys a politician? Our country was also built of tobacco and slavery, so should we reinstate slavery and promote tobacco use? Geez, no wonder we're in such bad environmental shape.
